2010 Events
- January 28 (Thursday)- Annual Meeting, (members
only) - potluck at Myrna & Charlie Smith's 6:30pm
- March 14 (Sunday) – Gerten’s Plant Society
Day, 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM. DSM will have a table there, along with many
other plant societies. Elsie Riggs and Edie Godfrey will staff table.
- March 11-14 - American Daffodil Society national
show and convention, Murphys, CA
- April 7 (Thursday) - Potluck at Denis and Bev Dailey’s, 6:30 PM.
Meeting will also include discussion of our spring show.
- April 10 (Saturday) - The Arboretum’s “Plant
Info Day”. DSM will participate, along with other plant societies.
Volunteers: Sue Nyhammer, Edie Godfrey, Margaret Macneale.
- April 16,17,18+ - a 4-5 day road trip with Mike Berrigan to several
daffodil gardens in central Illinois. Contact Mike at 651-779-6372 if you’d like to ride along in his car.
- April 29 - May 2 - “Art In Bloom” at
the Art Institute. DSM will sponsor designer Karen Hauwiller.
- May 14-15-16 - our SPRING SHOW! Friday
afternoon is setup, Saturday AM is entries & judging, Saturday PM and
Sunday all day are open to the public for viewing. We will be back
at Bachman’s on Lyndale!

- April/May - Self-Guided Tours of members’ gardens
while daffodils are in bloom
- Late May or Early June (dates to be announced) -
Bulb dig in Michigan at John Reed’s growing fields (this is the source
for all those bulbs we sell in the fall!). Volunteers always welcome!
- Early June - Bulb Group Order meeting and potluck dinne
at Kathy Julius’s home. Gather to discuss and place ‘group
orders’ for bulbs. Contact 763-593-1686
- August (Specifc dates to be announced) - bulb cleaning & bagging
at Edie Godfrey’s, in prep for fall sales. (Hint: free bulbs
to anyone who volunteers!)
- Late August or Early September - bulb exchange and purchases (members
only) at Kathy Julius. Contact 763-593-1686. Also a “plant exchange” if
you have divisions you’d like to share. This is the best time to
get show-quality daffodil varieties at very cheap prices!
- Late August and Early September - Fall Bulb Sales. Tentative sales opportunities:.
- August 21-22, 2010 - Arboretum “Flower Fest”
- August 28, 2010 – Scott-Carver Master Gardener perennial plant sale
- September 25, 2010 – Arboretum “Harvest Fair”
- September or October – date TBD; Plant pots of daffodils at Governor’s Residence in St. Paul
- December 4 (Saturday) - 5th annual combined Holiday
Party, with the Iris Society of Minnesota(ISM). The ISM will host in 2010.
